Day three.
Woke up starving. It subsided after about a half hour, though, so I held off on my first juice and instead had about 5 ounces of coffee plus soy milk I’d saved from yesterday. I’m going to be a fucking wreck when I come off the coffee tomorrow. It’s been hard enough focusing on work today — drawing is suffering just for lack of focus. I still have white tongue and random pains, especially in my shoulders and ribs.
On the bright side, Andrea and I walked to Berkeley Bowl. I got just about as much as I could comfortably carry the half mile back home, and it came out to under $13: celery, strawberries, d’anjou pears, Italian parsley, spinach, kale, avocados, bananas and clearance apples (yes, a bag of seven slightly bruised organic apples for 99 cents — there were at least three other bags of apples that I kind of wish I’d bought, too).
Morning drink: banana + six strawberries + 3/4 cup blueberries + soy milk, diluted and over ice. I don’t even want to try to tinker with something so perfect.
Snack: yes, I couldn’t help it: two stalks of celery, two strawberries and half an apple with a tablespoon of peanut butter, spread out over about three hours. I really needed this to make it through the afternoon.
Evening drink: five apples + four giant carrots + handful spinach + handful parsley, diluted and over ice. Surprisingly delicious, even Andrea agreed. This made a hefty 36-40 ounces or so. Would make again, for sure.
Oh, and if you’re wondering, I gave up on the last 6-8 ounces of the garbage I made last night — it was just too gross, I thought it better to start anew.
