Day five.
Surprisingly, best day yet. It’s 8:33 pm right now and I’m only just getting hungry for my evening drink. Today I started a three-day stint of training for my new job as a Census enumerator, so I was nervous about how things would go, food-wise. This is the first time I’m genuinely feeling less hungry. I brought an apple with me today and didn’t even want it. (Though I did cheat and have a small coffee with soy milk at lunch. I got up at 7!)
However. I am having serious aches and pains of all kinds. Old gymnastics injuries and beaten-up joints — knees and shoulders especially — are bothering me much more often. Everything is popping and cracking. I’m also getting frequent funny muscle twitches that I’d normally get just once in a while. All in all, some odd shit. I’m trying to stretch and do at least a little yoga every day, though, and I’m feeling overall more flexible, despite these other disturbances…
Anyway.
Morning drink: banana + six big Berkeley Bowl strawberries (a pound? for $1.89) + soy milk, over ice in my steel water bottle. Delicious, as always. These strawberries are especially awesome — once again, wish I’d gotten more. Unfortunately, though, it turns out we’re not supposed to have other drinks in the census training room, a rule which I’m hoping to sidle by for the next two days.
Evening drink: last night leftovers, diluted over ice. I could only drink a little more than half of what I made last night, like 24 ounces, so I am having the other 20 right now. I don’t think I’ll be hungry after that, but we’ll see. As you might have noticed if you’ve been following up until now, I usually update these posts later in the evening, with additional tablespoons of peanut butter.
