Day twelve.
A good day! I mean, considering. After getting back around 5 a.m. from work, I slept a few hours but was still kind of out of it for the rest of the day, and took a nap in the evening. I couldn’t tell how much of my muscle soreness and general fatigue were due to juice fasting and how much was by virtue of feeling overworked.
You might notice that I really haven’t been juicing enough. I think this is the part of the “cleanse” that’s difficult to fit around a busy work schedule. Juicing is time-consuming: you have to rinse and chop a grip of fruit and veg, prepare the juicer, do the deed itself, and then clean the thing before all the pulp dries in its fragile little bits. I’m looking forward to having more time for this sort of nonsense next week, when this operation with the Census is finished.
Breakfast drink: 12 ounces of leftover apple, carrot, spinach parsley juice, diluted over ice. Not the greatest, since it wasn’t fresh, but satisfying. I will probably make more of this one tomorrow, depending on what I need to use up… I think I have some cucumbers that are on their last legs.
Lunch drink: banana plus five strawberries, orange juice and soy milk, diluted over ice. I’m not sure that the soy milk actually adds much taste-wise here, but I don’t feel bad about having a splash of protein in my day.
Snacks: not much! two small pieces of dark chocolate — I figured it was worth it to satisfy the craving rather than let it snowball.
