Day fourteen.
Two weeks! I can’t believe it! I keep waffling between feeling prepared for the next two(+) weeks and feeling like I’ve accomplished enough to warrant at least a cookie or a garlic seitan wing from that place around the corner on Shattuck.
This was another day where I wasn’t hungry in the morning so put off eating, and then became more and more hungry later in the day. I need to remember to make myself have at least something small in the morning — I think it would also help with my energy level.
Breakfast drink: a soy latte when I was out running errands this morning. I don’t think I even missed the caffeine, it’s just the flavor. I really have to get hooked on decaf…
Evening drink: banana plus five strawberries, orange juice, soy milk over ice. Delicious! But I associate this one so strongly with breakfast time, it’s like the dinner pancakes of fasting. Ohh pancakes…
Snack: 3/4 cup of Cheerios with 1/2 cup of soy milk. I figured this was about the same caloric content as 1.5 tablespoons of peanut butter (150 or so calories, not so much as to really throw me off), and I was really missing the physical sensation of crunching into something. Highly satisfying! I think the most surprising thing was how sweet it tasted. Man I miss carbs.
