Day twenty-one.
Three weeks! Holy crap! And I felt pretty great today, in fact — dare I say energetic? — even though once again I didn’t make the time to have my breakfast drink before leaving for census work, as I was so rushed and busy all morning. It was beautiful out, so I walked to and from work, about three miles total, stopping at Berkeley Bowl on the way home for two pounds of strawberries, a bunch spinach, two bunches of parsley and a pound of broccoli — $6.50 or so.
Later on in the evening, when I was sitting working at my desk, I suddenly smelled red wine — strong. Andrea was drinking a glass about ten feet away. I can’t say this is from the juicing or whether I might have developed some super powers in the last couple weeks, but I can’t remember having that attuned of a sense of smell. It really shocked me. Oh, yeah, and then she offered me a sip and I couldn’t resist. It was some of the most delicious wine I’ve ever tasted, and I don’t even like wine. I’ll be interested to try the same stuff after I’m eating food again…
Breakfast drink: three ounces of coffee with soy milk, leftovers from the other day. Couldn’t help myself… I forgot to get decaf at the store for post-juicing, since I’ve discovered my love affair with coffee is going to require some bigger guns, as it were.
Lunch drink: one banana, eight strawberries, orange juice, soy milk, over ice. Delicious. I used about half fresh strawberries and half nearly-turned strawberries, which I think added some syrupy sweetness.
Evening drink: three ounces of just carrot juice, plus twelve ounces of a mix of four clearance apples, five carrots, half a bunch of spinach and half a bunch of parsley over ice. Delicious! Though I should be drinking more pure carrot juice. Dang, that stuff, wow.
